An explanation

  1. Liberty We Trust is a collection of seven pieces.
  2. Two shirts, one trouser, one skirt and three dresses.
  3. The most fundamental is the silk button-down collar shirt.
  4. The shirt's best friend is the pleated trouser.  It also gets cozy with the pleated skirt.
  5. The dresses stand on their own and sometimes stack on top of each other.
  6. Each piece has to answer the question: why should it exist?
  7. In addition to some less high-minded answers—for instance, why not—they exist because they are timeless, well-made and, oddly enough, impossible to find these days.
  8. And the penny.  It’s for luck.
